Time Travel

Updated: Jan 16, 2023

Time travel is a favorite dream of many. Most people have something past they would like to revisit. Some like to think about going back and correcting mistakes or giving themselves wise advice to improve their life. If we could stop ourselves from making that one mistake, bad investment, or wrong turn, everything could be different.

According to His wisdom, God has caused people to live only in the present. All people live each day as it comes without the ability to change what has been before. No one can alter the past, and no one can control the future. But every person chooses who they will be today. And today is enough (Matt. 6:34). Even one day’s trouble often proves more challenging than a person is willing to overcome.

As much as a person might desire, they cannot go back and change what has happened in the past. For this reason, Paul advises all to approach each day, each moment, with the wisdom of God’s Word in mind (Eph. 5:15-17).

As your days pass, you are writing your history. Are you making the most of your moments? Do you choose what is wise and according to the will of the Lord? To avoid events you wish you could change, choose wisely now. You can write a better history starting now. Do not live regretting what you cannot change. Live in the present and prepare for the future, which is God’s will (2 Pet. 3:10-13). Today you can change tomorrow’s yesterday. Make the most of your today.

“So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom.” -Psalm 90:12
