God prophesied through Jeremiah, saying, “An appalling and horrible thing has happened in the land: The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule on their own authority; and My people love it so! But what will you do at the end of it?” (Jer. 5:30-31). Through Jeremiah, God exposed the wickedness of Judah and reminded them of the reality of judgment. Consider these three points made in Jeremiah 5:30-31:

Point One: God knows what is happening. God was not blind in the days of Jeremiah, and He is not blind today. He sees the wickedness of the wicked. He knows when a preacher preaches lies, no matter how craftily he slithers and hisses his way through them. God knows the truth, and He knows when people are not speaking it.

Point Two: God knows how you feel about what is happening. It was bad enough that the prophets and priests were ruling on their own authority rather than appealing to God and the standard of His Word, but what was worse was that the people loved it that way. They loved having someone who would call wrong right and speak as though they had God’s authority when they were, in fact, rejecting God’s authority altogether.

Point Three: There is an end coming, and when it arrives, your choices will catch up with you. Those who have loved God will enjoy the reward He has prepared for His faithful ones. Those who have hated God by hating the truth, preaching lies, and loving lies will receive His wrath forever.

In two verses, God revealed His knowledge of humanity and our activities on earth, and reminded us that there is a judgment, an end coming. We will all arrive at it, so, based on how you are living today, what will you do when the end comes?
