Where Would You Like To Be?

There is a spiritual battle raging all around us right now. When you stop paying attention to what God says is beneficial for the spiritual part of you (the part that goes on living after you die), you open the door for every evil thing to influence your character and actions. Continuing down that wicked road results in eternal suffering away from the presence of the Lord. The only way to life is through Jesus Christ and obedience to His gospel.

Consider these Scriptures that, when taken together, teach what has been summarized in the previous paragraph:

  • Ephesians 6:10-17 – The enemies we face are spiritual ones who act in the heavenly places. God wants to be our spiritual ally, our King, and will give us the victory.

  • Romans 1:5, 16 – The power of God for salvation is the gospel of Jesus Christ, and everyone who believes obeys it and receives salvation.

  • Galatians 5:16-17 – After obeying the gospel, if you make choices based on what God says is beneficial for your spirit, you will avoid the damaging desires of your fleshly side and live with Him forever.

  • 2 Thessalonians 1:6-10 – If you turn God away and do not obey His gospel, you will suffer the penalty of eternal destruction.

  • Ephesians 4:26-27 – When you allow sins like anger to remain with you, you open the door for the devil to live in you instead of Christ. The devil will influence you into sin, and ultimately your eternal destruction.

Whether you allow God or the devil to influence you doesn’t remove your responsibility; it just informs you about how you got where you are and reveals the path to where you’d like to be. So, where would you like to be?
